What Is She Wearing? Kate Middleton's Fashion as she Arrives in Canada

Prince William and Duchess Catherine just touched
down in Ottawa for the start of their royal tour.

Predictably Kate had changed out of her navy Smythe-and-Roland-Mouret outfit from earlier today, instead choosing a fitted lace frock that has been confirmed as the Erdem Cecile dress. I like the choice. Photos

From the quick look I got Kate's nude pumps seem to be her trusty LK Bennett Sledge2 heels and she's also accessorized with a neutral clutch, perhaps the same one she used at Wimbledon.

What Will Kate Wear? And Some Pippa Fashion, Too

William and Kate are on their way to Canada -- having departed Heathrow airport on a Canadian Air Force jet. Kate was seen wearing her first Canadian designer (Smythe) and one of her favourite colours of late (navy; second only to white).

The Duchess wears Smythe's one-button Cutaway-Back Blazer
in wool-crepe paired with the Manon Dress from Roland Mouret.

Kate accessorized with Manolo Blahnik Calogera court
shoes and the Polly Push Lock Bag (Small) from Mulberry.

What do you think of Kate's look?
I love the blazer and the bag, but I
think it almost borders on stewardess chic.

Floral Explosion: Erdem S/S 2011

William and Kate are set to touch down in Ottawa today at around 2pm, and of course what everyone is wondering is what--or, rather, who--Kate will be wearing during her North American tour. Now that Smythe has already been confirmed the other smart money is on the now UK-based Erdem.

And have you been wondering about the chain charm bracelet that Kate has been sporting lately? At the recent event for the Irish Guard Armed Forces, Kate accessorized her custom navy Alexander McQueen military-inspired coat and matching dress with navy Prada heels, a Anya Hindmarch Marano clutch, a clover pin from the regiment, the Duchess' often seen Kiki McDonough Drop Earrings in Citrine, a hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan, and the bracelet. Then Kate appeared at Wimbledon in another white dress (this time the layered and ruffled Moraiah Dress from Temperley London) paired with her trusty nude Sledge2 pumps from L.K. Bennett and the bracelet. {For those interested, Temperley is reissuing the Moraiah and you can register your interest here.}

According to the Daily Mail the bracelet was in fact a wedding gift from Camilla. One side of the charm features Kate's new monogram (curly 'C' under a coronet) and the other side features Camilla's (also a 'C' under a coronet, but with the letter in a circle).

Pippa Middleton sent tongues wagging when she showed up at Wimbledon with Alex Loudon, her apparently on-again boyfriend. Pippa wore a red dress (the Hobbs NW3 Wylde)--the same she was seen wearing when out shopping the day before at Russell and Bromley--and her trusty Modalu bag.

Pretty Little Liars 'My Name is Trouble' Fashion Recap

I didn't get to watch Pretty Little Liars last night, so let's just concentrate on the fashion instead. What do you think of Aria's feather hair extensions?

Spencer accessorized a J. Crew button-down and cute Urban Outfitters skirt with a vintage scarf. Boots by Christian Louboutin.

Emily's grey and white paint splatter top is the Insight Drop Crop Sweater and her ripped skinny jeans are from J. Brand.

Hanna's grey and ivory dress is the Strapless Button Dress from Plenty by Tracy Reese and her cropped jacket is from Bebe. Shoes from Casadei and earrings by Marc Jacobs.

Owls! Spencer's military inspired linen blazer is from Beluah and her sheer printed shirt is the Blue Bird Owl Print Tank. Pants are by Marrakesh.

A Look Inside Keri Russell's Brooklyn Brownstone

I've always had an affinity for Keri Russell, ever since she appeared in that Bon Jovi music video. Mostly because I didn't know very many stars with hair curlier than mine (Rebecca Gayheart and Minnie Driver excepted). And while Keri does look different these days I think she seems like a cool, laid back celeb.

The June 2011 issue of ELLE Decor features the Brooklyn brownstone that Russell shares with her husband and son. The home's kitchen cabinets are made of reclaimed fir stained an espresso brown. The fridge is a Sub-Zero and Viking makes the range and vent hood. I like the rustic yet functional feel of the kitchen, although I can't say I'm a fan of that Rejuvenation light fixture. It just seems kind of...small.

I like the pine table, but can those wire chairs be comfortable?

I think Keri's palette can rightly be described as soothing. Light fixture by Ochre, tufted ottoman from John Derian Dry Goods, armchairs by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, rug from Shaw Floors and reclaimed side table and mirror by Russell's husband, Shane Deary.

Book of the Week: Spoiled

I had heard awhile back that The Fug Girls were coming out with a book and then promptly forgot all about it (that's happening to me a lot lately - ha). Then I was in Wal-Mart and was attracted to the cover of the book Spoiled. As soon as I realized it was the YA novel by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan I was sold. Things have been busy so I haven't had a chance to post about reading it yet, but if you like the Fug Girls' snappy humor and acerbic wit on their site then there's a good chance you'll like Spoiled too.

The premise of the novel is one we've seen before: anonymous small town girl finds out that her biological parent is a Hollywood superstar. The superstar's existing progeny gets jealous and sets out to make said small town girl's Tinseltown life a living hell. This is basically how things start out for Molly Dix when, after her mother's death, she finds out her father is Hollywood heavyweight Brick Berlin. Brick is well meaning, but often distracted and absent, leaving Molly to fend for and deal with her new sister Brooke all by herself.

For me what set this story apart from others like it is the writing style and the humor. Plus both Molly and Brooke are rather interesting characters and I'm looking forward to the continuation of their saga. Have you read Spoiled?

What is She Wearing? Olivia Palermo at the amfAR Inspiration Gala

Photo: MTV

Olivia Palermo appeared at the amfAR Inspiration Gala wearing a one-shouldered polka dot dress from Bensoni's Spring 2010 collection with a pair of Charlotte Olympia pumps.

Once again Blair Waldorf has beat the real-life
fashionista by wearing a dress first (and with chic Viviers!)

Do you prefer the dress worn Olivia's or Blair's way?

L'Aviva Home and My Inability to Focus

I think one of the problems on taking on a whole home renovation and decoration project is the tendency to lose focus. If I'm out shopping I'm easily distracted. Oooh that light fixture might work, but wait that rug! Oh, right, I'm here looking for actual chairs to sit on--priorities. And that's how it's been for me lately. There's so much to choose and buy that I'm never looking for just one thing.

When I happened on L'Aviva Home website it didn't much help. I was instantly distracted by all the dizzying possiblities and pretty objects the site offers. The first thing that caught my eye was the Granada Lantern, which I think would look heavenly hanging from the ceiling in my upstairs hallway. Our stairs hug the wall so there's not room for a big, dramatic chandelier, but something like this would do nicely, I think. Plus I love that it would add some great character to the home. (Did I mention that as well as being distracted I love so much and so many styles--modern, rustic, glam, ethnic-boho-exotic--that it's hard to narrow it down and keep things harmonious.)

L'Aviva Home also has a whole host of other gorgeous items too...

can you tell I've been ona lighting kick lately?

Shyrdak Felt Rugs--I think these are just gorgeous.
And the colours are heavenly.
I'm on the lookout for rugs for the dining and family
rooms, but those are last on the list for now.
I did find a perfect 10x7 at Homesense for only
$399 but I didn't pull the trigger and now regret it.

Mexican Coverlets--more gorgeous embroidery and colours.

What do you think?
Any plans for the weekend?
