Gossip Girl 'The Wrong Goodbye' Episode and Fashion Recap

O.M.G.
W.T.F!?!

I thought the Gossip Girl season finale cliffhanger was going to be about whether Blair would choose Chuck or Louis, but it appears that the writers had something else altogether in store:

A baby Bass!

[via]

Sure, maybe they're leading me down the garden path and that abandoned pregnancy test was Darota's or something (grrr if that's the case), but it doesn't seem likely. And as far as we know Serena--surprisingly--hasn't boned anyone since forever. Which leaves Blair. If Louis' the father there's no fun in that, which means...

A Bass baby!

last episode with an Alberta Ferretti coat, Sequin earrings

I'm not really sure how much time elapsed between the Constance party and Darota cleaning out that trash can. At least enough time for Faux Charlie to Greyhound it to Miami. And did you see that twist coming? I, for one, did not. Wonder what kind of fresh hell Faux Charlie and Georgina have in store for Season Five and what will happen when Real Charlie shows up. Because you know she will.

So, okay, am I the only one who got teary eyed last night?
I mean, Chuck Bass actually sacrificing his own desires for Blair was just about too much. I do like the idea of Chuck and Nate spending the summer old school style and I think it's great that the writers have Blair and Dan continuing their friendship. The whole Chuck-and-Blair-I'll-love-you-forever breakup...*tear*

The snake print on Georgina's one-shouldered Marchesa
is perfect for her, but it gives me the creeps.
Earrings - Sequin
Cuff - Kara Ross
Rings - Swarovski and Lia Sophia
Clutch - Carlos Falchi

I also thought Georgina was welcome comic relief last night. Not only did she have one of the best lines of the night ("I haven't been this bored since I believed in Jesus!") but I loved when she was all, "I missed you! You really get me!" to Serena. Not that its even plausible that Serena could understand her. I mean, that girl is just as dumb as a post and completely self absorbed. Faux Charlie was hanging out a window and Serena was still blathering on about Nate and Dan and Columbia. I think I actually blacked out a bit during that speech. And her whole I-Never-Make-My-Own-Decisions existential crisis? Blah.

No one cares Serena. No one cares.

Did you catch GG creator Cecily von Ziegesar's cameo?

And I guess Serena is going to become some kind of Hollywood mogul now? Of course. I almost expected Serena to end up in some kind of Breakfast at Tiffany's remake like in the books, instead we're to believe that not only has Serena read The Beautiful and Damned but can quote it from memory. Sometimes this show just kills me.

And Vanessa? Dead to me. DEAD.
At times I even felt bad for the girl and her horrible fashion choices but no more. Thank God she's disappearing herself--unfortunately its to one of my fave cities.

Overall a bittersweet episodes with some really great moments. I thought Chuck's line about there being a "difference between a great love and a right love" was so apt and can be so true. Can't wait for next season!

Raina's one-shouldered gown strikes me as a very Serena-type dress.

Gossip Girl 'Shattered Bass' Episode and Fashion Recap

How can there only be one episode of Gossip Girl left?
I know I have a million things I should be doing other than watching,
but I'll certainly miss my Monday fix.

For once I don't even know where to start.
Chuck! Blair! Louis! Thorpe!
And Jack Bass. Back and teaming up with...Chuck?!
I almost like it.

I'm glad Chuck got some closure over the Thorpe situation,
but I wanted to bop Nate over his pretty little head.
It's been confirmed: dude is as stupid as he looks.

I'm not so afraid Thorpe will hurt Blair, I'm mostly
mad that he ruined her princess moment (classic that
Cyrus, who I love, called her a "princess bride.")
But I guess if nothing else Blair leaving the party shows
that she'll always choose Chuck first.

And just when I was starting to like Louis a bit.
He seemed cool this episode, like he really cares
about Blair and he wasn't all jumping to conclusions
and breaking off engagements willy nilly.

Although I do think the party ultimatum was a disaster
waiting to happen. See also: Chuck Bass, Empire State Building.
Blair should have really known better.

Scarf - Oscar de la Renta
Satchel - LV Les Extraordinaires Monogram Guipure
Nude Patent Pumps - Giuseppe Zanotti

I'm hearing Vanessa and Jenny won't be back next season, which I'm glad about.
Now if we can just send Charlie along we'd be good.
I thought Serena overreacted a bit about the dress at the party--
she really looked like she wanted to rip it off right there--
but Charlie, as predicted, is legit crazy.

I mean, you kind of have to be to throw your entire
prescription--which Rufus just filled out for you--in the trash.
In. The. Trash. Can.
The living room trash can.
Really?

I'm soooo looking forward to next week!

Serena knew that Charlie's gold dress was Pamela Dennis Couture.
Earrings - Double Happiness
Gold Cuff - Alexis Bittar
Clutch - Nancy Gonzalez
Mostly because she'd already worn it in Season 1.
Just look at that bow...I guess the tag wasn't the only thing that
Charlie ripped out and threw into the trash along with her pills. [via]

Gossip Girl 'The Princesses and the Frog' Episode and Fashion Recap

Let me just start this by saying that there isn't anything much better than a broody, unshaven Chuck Bass. Except the version that crashes a royal party to tell a princess that he is Chuck Bass, love of Blair Waldorf's life, okay? Just in case anyone has forgotten. For the first time in a long time I feel like Chuck is getting back where he needs to be. We spent too much time with him swooning over Eva and Raina--really?--and now Blair gets one date and he's all bent out of shape. I think Chuck needs to learn his lesson and learn it well. Hopefully this latest downward spiral will do the trick.

As for the whole Raina thing, I could care less. I kind of hate her. And Nate? What a loser. I mean he actually called Raina to tell her that he chooses her? Especially when he can plainly see how much his best friend needs him? Barf. Although Nate have that one particularly good line...

“It’s four o’clock. Smoking jacket hours, why are you still in your robe?”

Classic.

We all know that this Blair-Louis thing isn't going to last but I enjoyed watching Blair be happy for an episode. It seems like she really is trying to change and choose happiness in her life rather than a lot of the darkness that made up her time with Chuck. I think it's good for her and will help when she eventually reunites with Chuck, which we all know she will.

As for Serena? On a good day this character is useless. Well, only useful for how great she fills out her clothes. But this episode? Downright hateful and annoying. Seriously.

What. A. Bitch.

Darota was entertaining as always and Charlie is now consistently creepy. I almost felt bad for Vanessa. Dan seriously needs to get the hell away from the crazy cousin  before she starts boiling bunnies and all that. We're headed in that direction for sure.

Another highlight: When Dan called his dad "Jeeves." And Rufus totally acknowledged that he was Lily's butler. Oh, and Darota saying Vanya would go all Eastern European on the Prince. I gotta get me a Darota.

And thanks so much for all the congratulations on the new house. Definitely exciting times. I hope to share a lot of before and afters with you guys so bear with me in the days and weeks (hopefully not too many months) to come!

LeAnn Rimes Wedding, Celebrity Engagement Rings & More

I figured a post about weddings and engagements was appropriate for this week when the biggest nuptials of them all are taking place. And while it may seem like William and Kate are the first people on Earth to get married, others are doing it too, like LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, for instance, who married in California on Friday according to People. I'm no LeAnn fan but I do think LeAnn's sparkly Reem Acra wedding dress is very pretty and flattering. And you can't go wrong with a fistful of peonies.

Another Kate (not just Middleton and Moss) is also headed to the altar.
Speaking of weddings several stars have also gotten engaged recently.
Kate Hudson, for once, who was gifted an emerald-cut engagement
ring from boyfriend Matt Bellamy (apparently its 9 karats). Just saw the
commercial for Kate's new movie, Something Borrowed. Can't wait!

Speaking of that other Kate, she was at Clarence House
yesterday for some pre-wedding prep. [via]

Amy Smart recently confirmed with US that she's also
engaged to boyfriend and cutie carpenter Carter Oosterhouse.

Kristin Cavallari has also recently announced her engagement--
sadly, for Laguna/Hills fans its not to Stephen, Brody...or Justin Bobby.
I haven't seen pics of the Kristin Cavallari engagement ring (Kristin
was ringless when shopping in L.A. on the 26th) but reports
say her boyfriend Jay Cutler presented her with a 5.2-karat rock. [via]

UPDATE: The first photo of Kristin's ring. [via]

Have you seen Blake Lively's new red locks?
I'm not really a fan, what do you think?

Speaking of redheads, Julianne Moore has gone brown for her
role as Sarah Palin. I'd say there's a striking resemblance. [via]
