When Tommy Met Anna...in Toronto

I'm a big Anna Dello Russo fan.
I like that she seems to really love fashion
and that she has the courage to wear fruit
in her hair with stylish aplomb.

And I adore Tommy Ton and his photographs.
He has captured some of my favourite street
style images and I love the way he never forgets
about capturing the details and accessories.

Yesterday both were in town for the launch of the new photo
exhibit on display at The Room at The Bay in Toronto.
You can catch When Tommy Met Anna, an exhibit of some
of Ton's photographs of ADR, until April 29th.

What are your plans for the weekend?
Any Easter celebrations scheduled?
Whatever you're doing I hope you have a great one!

Spring Stripes

Photo: Stockholm Street Style

Why not take a page out of Viviana Volpicella's playbook and opt for stripes this spring? (Bonus points if they're neon-hued like the uber popular pink Prada skirt that VV is sporting).

Sure, we can't all pull off head-to-toe stripes--or horizontals--
but there are tons of ways, from shoes to bags, that you can
incorporate stripes. Will you?

Street Chic: Get Elettra's Look

I'm really liking the fresh look sported by Elettra Wiedemann at Fashion Week. Easy, pretty and feminine. Like the look but not willing to spring for Michael Kors (dress and jacket) or Prada (shoes)? Don't have a string of family heirloom pearls? No problem. The great thing about this outfit is that it's easily achievable for much less. Photo via Vogue.com.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Street Chic: 01.13.11

I'm so sorry I haven't be visiting and commenting on your lovely blogs as much as usual lately. Things have been crazy busy here. Hopefully soon we'll be back to normal :)  For now let's enjoy some of these looks, which is your favourite?

Spotted: Faux Fur & Mock Croc

I love the casual mix of prints, patterns and fabrics in this outfit.
I guess it's because I've always had a soft spot for some
soft faux fur and mock animal prints. (Photo by Tommy Ton via Jak + Jil)

Which is why I was really attracted to some of the
accessories that Urban Barn has put on sale recently.

Like their faux fur throws and pillows--
such a great way to warm up a living room.

Not to mention their collection of mock crocodile items.
I guess my Christmas wrapping paper this year pretty much
gives away how much I love the glam look of mock croc.

I really love the chargers (which come in a variety of
colours), but the placemats, trays and storage units
like the remote caddy are also pretty stylish.

What do you think?

Street Chic: 10.14.10

I love how fresh faced Poppy Delevigne looks here.
Not to mention stylish and chic, obvs.
Loving the side pony. Dress by Irwin and Jordan

And I think the Chanel boots add just the right
amount of edge to the outfit. Do you agree?

Edited to add: The silver python tote is by Anya Hindmarch

Street Style: 09.21.10 and Gossip Girl, 4.2

Rebecka is wearing a mix of vintage and modern (the top and shorts are H and M) for a really great late-summer, early-fall look. Photo courtesy of Stockholm Street Style.

What did everyone think of Gossip Girl last night?
(some spoilers below)

"They're Vivier and a hell of a lot more expensive than a glass slipper!"
~ Blair, Gossip Girl, "Double Identity," Season 4, Episode 2

I was swooning again over Blair's de la Renta (with that pink clutch) and I loved the combo of the gold Pucci and blue Tibi pants on Serena even if it was a bit shoulderpad-tastic and M was not feeling the outfit at all. Blair and Chuck at the train station and her realizing he has been going to propose to her was a good moment and I'm glad Chuck Bass is back.

Blair: "You should have told me you got shot."
Chuck: "I'm surprised you didn't shoot me yourself."
Blair: "I have...many times in my dreams. The good ones."
~Gossip Girl, "Double Identity," 4.2

The whole Baby Milo controversy is a wearing thin (just get a DNA test already!), although Milo's monkey nursery was cute. I'm pretty much at the point where I want to punch Dan in the face. What is his deal? He should have been ecstatic that Nate lied to Vanessa. And how can anyone feel bad for Serena when she's been with different guys all summer? Although the question remains what would you choose a good shoulder to cry on or good shoulders? These are life questions, peeps. And then there's the mysterious Juliet, wonder who she's working with.

NYC Fashion Week SS 2011: Tommy Ton for Style.com

New York Fashion week is on as we speak and the fashion world has been buzzing about everything from Tom Ford's return to womenswear and Marc Jacob's love song to the Seventies to Jason Wu's new line of designer handbags and accessories. Me? I'm happy about the proliferation of a trend we've been starting to see for awhile--wide legged pants. Skinnies are great and all, but I'll always look better in jeans and trousers with a wider leg (more on this later). Still, no matter how many great looks designers put down the runway it always really boil down to how they're worn by real women. Here, a look through fashion photoblogger supreme Tommy Ton's lens at some of the street style seen outside the shows. Photos courtesy of Style.Com.
