Gossip Girl 'War at the Roses' Episode and Fashion Recap

Let me just say that any episode that ends with angry Chuck and Blair hate sex on a piano is a good episode. (Even though I was half-waiting for Eleanor or Serena to walk in). Put annoying Dan Humphrey out of your mind, don't pay attention to that dingbat Serena and stop trying to figure out Juliet's no doubt genius plan (insert eye roll here) to bring down said dingbat. Just enjoy the Chuck and Blair. I mean, an actual treaty with a notary and everything? Awesome. Blair admitting she'd been searching for Chuck all summer? Double awesome. Chuck ripping up the treaty and...and...well, let's try to keep this PG, but suffice it to say it was awesome.

I actually felt bad for Nate this episode. He so tries. You can all but see the hamster furiously running in his mind, trying to keep up. It's no use. Colin being Juliet's cousin is just a little...ridiculous. And that camera in Colin's living room, are we to believe that Juliet planted it or is he like the modelizing artist from Sex and the City who records all his conquests? Is Colin that predictable about where he takes his lady friends or did Juliet put a camera in every room of his apartment? Somehow, someway this is all going to end with everyone turning against poor imprisoned Ben, who texts his sister on his cell, but chats to her on a payphone.

Are we supposed to believe that at some point between chasing after inappropriate older men Serena actually read The Beautiful and Damned? Even worse, Colin--who apparently runs the world, teaches at Columbia, sleeps with half of Manhattan and is involved in some nefarious scheme with Juliet (or just bankrolls her, either or)--has the time to read it in less than a day? I call shenanigans.

I love me a good Gossip Girl party and I love Blair, but holy overreact much over the karaoke tape. I mean, I know it's Blair we're talking about here, but it wasn't a video of her murdering Georgina Sparks or anything. And why is Blair the only one who can see through Juliet?!

And Dan? I'm just gonna say this once. You are an annoying fool. And Vanessa is an even bigger foo' for sticking around and being your friend. Use you for your apartment? Sure. But actually sit there and listen to your self-righteous whining after you dumped her ass cold two weeks ago? Nuh uh.

And some great cameos, too. Joe Zee! Chocolate covered Rachel Zoe (in Pucci)! Cynthia Rowely (in...Cynthia Rowley)! Yay!
