Okay, so Season 4, Episode 4, and we're promised a big reveal on the secret that Chuck's Eva is hiding. The "A Touch of Eva" promos pretty much gave the secret away and the reveal to Chuck (by Nate, no less) was kind of anti-climactic. I give props to Chuck for accepting Eva, warts and all just as she did for him, even though I can't really stand the girl. Who is that perfect? And despite Blair's scheming I felt bad for Miss. Waldorf. Obviously she's still got it bad for Bass despite all the things he's done to her (the least of which, really, was sleeping with Jenny Humphrey no matter how distasteful her fashion sense). So now it's on like Donkey Kong between Chuck and Blair? Ugh. C'mon Chuck, not even you're stupid enough to think that Blair was just being hateful and doesn't have feelings for you anymore! The whole thing--Ivan, the Eva breakup, etc.--just seemed so strange and contrived to me.
"So how's the humiliation going to go down? Did your scheme team find Eva's pimp? Is he going to roll up to the press with platforms on?" ~ Chuck to Blair
This episode didn't thrill me and a lot of the moments rang false. Serena vacillating between Nate and Dan is annoying, although I'm glad she's realized that perhaps being so undecided means that neither is right for her. As for Dan? Well, first off, his sideburns annoy me and, second, Vanessa should have kicked his bony ass to the curb. He only decides that he wants to be with Vanessa when he figures out she wants only him and he might not be the only man in Serena's heart? Jerk. And his declaration to Vanessa at the end that losing Milo broke his heart was, shall we say, unconvincing to say the least. As for Juliet, well, she looked pretty and good call on snagging that apartment to further ensnare Nate, I guess.
So while the storylines pretty much annoyed me overall, there's always the fashion...
I adored this look on Serena, especially the Stephen Dweck cuff bracelet and the tan Chanel, obvs. Boyfriend blazer by Nanette Lepore, sequined crocheted skirt by Gryphon and top by Joie Agacia.
I thought Clémence/Eva looked pretty cute this episode (loved her hair at Chuck's party). This pleated Free People skirt is right on trend and who wouldn't love the Prada slingbacks or Fendi Firenze frame bag?
The colour of Blair's Jenny Packham gown (Cruise 2010) is gorgeous, but the fit seemed off to me and the back was kinda bridesmaid-esque. The Packham original seems prettier somehow, maybe changing the necklace threw it off. Earrings by Swarovski.
The cranberry red (apparently J. Mendel) was great on Serena, but I thought her hair was a little strange and the dress seems a little short or something? The Dannijo Raya Necklace on the other hand? Love. The show really hit it out of the park with the accessories last night.

Another gown, another great statement necklace. Juliet wore a Bibhu Mohapatra gown and accessories with Brian Atwood pumps (swoon!), a Nancy Gonzalez clutch and a gorgeous M.C.L. statement necklace. I think she looked really good, actually, although is it just me or does her hair get darker with every episode?
What did you think about the show last night?
Are you into a Chuck-Blair feud?
